While I was taking my out of town guests on a sight seeing of beautiful Southern California, we ended up in a college campus. There are many places for a guest to visit in Southern California like the popular Disneyland, the Universal Studios in Hollywood, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Sea World in San Diego and the list goes on. But my visitors are people that likes education and wanted to know what’s available in Southern California for their children’s future higher education. That’s what lead our sight seeing tour to a college campus. Our presence at this college then lead to the main point of this blog which is a statue we noticed on campus, pictured above. When we first arrived we didn’t even know the statue existed so we first toured many other parts of the college. This includes the university library, classrooms, students residents and the athletic gym. We finally headed towards the school of nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, medicine and the university hospital. When we exited from the main entrance of the medical center we noticed a crowd of people taking picture in front of a beautiful statue. It was a statue of a Physician and a little child holding an elderly man and apparently leading the sick old man to the “great Physician”. The great Physician is of course Jesus Christ, the creator and redeemer of all humanity. The compassionate Physician will care and treat the Patient to the best of his knowledge but he/she also knows that the real healer of all human sickness is none other than the creator and redeemer of our lives, the great Physician Jesus Christ. What a wonderful stature and a great object lesson for us.
